The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the 4th year of the Waste to Sources Competition, which we will register with the first functional project of biomethane production from biodegradable waste and injection of biomethane into the gas distribution system.

The European Commission (EC) has published the first draft of its new law aimed at inducing Member States to significantly reduce their carbon emissions.

The plant, which will use electrolysis to convert energy from renewable sources to hydrogen, will grow in the north of the Netherlands and should produce up to 800,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year by 2040.

We all know that the amount of waste is constantly growing, including its substantial component – biodegradable waste. Its essential characteristic is its “liveliness”, thanks to which it decomposes very quickly.

Pavel Bureš is a project manager at the EFG Rapotín BPS biogas plant. Last year he was one of the main people in the project of upgrading biogas to biomethane. It is still the only installation in the Czech Republic that is yet to be awarded by the general public.

There is no doubt that climate change and environmental protection will be a very important topics this year, as were in 2019. What’s more, it is expected that companies and politicians around the world put even more emphasis on this in 2020.
